Jeffrey Surrell brings more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and media relations to every engagement. As Founder and Managing Director of Shot Point Strategies, he provides senior-level counsel to corporations, associations, and organizations navigating complex communications challenges.
Jeff served as General Manager of Edelman's Washington, DC office from 1994 to 2019, where he worked alongside Michael Deaver, President Reagan's former Deputy Chief of Staff. During his tenure, he directed major campaigns for the Association of American Railroads and PhRMA, and managed national media for both the 9/11 Commission and the Iraq Study Group.
He co-authored two best-selling books with Michael K. Deaver, further establishing his expertise in the intersection of communications and public policy.
Earlier in his career, Jeff served as a staff member for U.S. Representative Robert W. Davis (R-Mich.) and as a Foreign Liaison Officer at the Department of Defense. He has also served as Senior Counselor at Adfero.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts from George Mason University.
